We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff, with a focus on improving patient care and organizational processes in Medical Specialty Clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, including unit orientation, just-in-time training, and continuing education.
- Collaborate with Chiefs, Nurse Managers/Supervisors, Medical Directors, and organizational Leadership to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs.
- Provide education and support to staff on complex nursing care standards and promote an environment that embraces new knowledge, innovations, and improvements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to standards and promote evidence-based clinical practice.
- Take initiative and utilize innovative and creative approaches for changing practice based on performance improvement findings and evidence-based practice.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on education and training.
- Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
- Experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator or in a similar role.
- Simulation Lab experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Vista, and Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
