Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Truckload Driver Training Expert to join our team. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and onboarding new driver associates while they are in training. You will also teach and evaluate the skills needed to be successful driver associates, perform hands-on training both in the classroom and in the truck, and cover critical components of training, including safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies, and procedures.

You will act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization, preparing new drivers for a safe and rewarding career with Schneider. Your responsibilities will include demonstrating and teaching driving skills and techniques that align with Schneider Training Academy guidelines and training materials, facilitating on-the-job, in-truck training on the electronic tablet and Schneider's workflow system, recognizing and correcting unsafe driving habits, providing verbal and written feedback and suggestions for improvement, evaluating and providing updates on candidates who are not meeting expected levels of ability within set timelines, completing annual Schneider instructor re-certification process, and utilizing and assigning electronic computer-based training to driver students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), DOT physical card, and at least 12 months of Class A driving experience. You should also have the ability to coach and mentor effectively in a team environment, demonstrate a positive, professional attitude and the ability and willingness to accept change, and learn, demonstrate, and train Schneider's company policies and procedures.

You should also be able to live within 50 miles of Charlotte, NC, and have experience with Word, Excel, and other computer-based systems.
