Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying and evaluating various sources of commodities and services, preparing contract documents, and negotiating complex purchase orders. This role will also involve maintaining contact with vendors, assembling and distributing requests for quotation, and performing bid evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Contracting
    • Identify and evaluate various sources of commodities and services
    • Prepare contract documents and bidders list
    • Negotiate complex purchase orders
  • Vendor Management
    • Maintain contact with vendors
    • Assemble and distribute requests for quotation
  • Procurement Processes
    • Perform bid evaluations
    • Issue purchase orders for complex type packages or commodities
  • Communication and Leadership
    • Represent the department in meetings with other functions/management
    • Provide leadership training and guidance for junior staff
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Typically 5-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Education
    • BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical/Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Skills and Behaviors
    • Business presence and polish
    • Knowledge of CB&I products and markets
    • Proactively identifies and solves complex problems
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Mentally agile and ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
    • Proven negotiating ability with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
