About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As an Electric Motor Design Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing high-efficiency electric motors and generators for our space-based applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced electric motor systems for space-based applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate motor systems into our space vehicles and systems
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures and standards for motor design and testing
  • Work closely with our engineering teams to ensure motor systems meet safety and performance requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in electric motor design and development
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic design principles and software tools such as ANSYS MotorCAD and Maxwell
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with motor control systems and sensor feedback
  • Knowledge of FEA tools for structural and thermal analysis
