Medical Assessment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assessment Specialist to join our team at MRG Exams in Chesapeake, VA. As a respected provider of independent medical examinations, we strive to deliver thorough and objective assessments that support United States Veterans through the VA's disability benefits process.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Physiatrist with a passion for serving veterans to contribute to our mission by conducting comprehensive medical assessments. You will be responsible for reviewing medical records, conducting evaluations, and completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through a secure online portal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze veterans' medical records to ensure accurate and comprehensive assessments.
- Conduct non-treating evaluations of veterans to document their current health conditions.
- Complete DBQs based on VA-specific templates to capture all relevant medical findings.
- Submit DBQs within 24 hours of the assessment to ensure timely decision-making.
- Assess up to four veterans daily, utilizing your expertise to provide high-quality assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid schedule (in-person and telehealth). A strong typing skillset and attention to detail are essential for this role.
Requirements:
- Active MD or DO license with a specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred; candidates with a completed two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
- A competitive salary of $**145,000 - $200,000 per year**, commensurate with experience, reflects our commitment to attracting top talent.
