Nurse Practitioner for Neonatal Care

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, you will be integral in delivering exceptional care to our patients. We are currently in search of a proficient Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Nursery care to work the Night Shift. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available for qualified, experienced candidates.

The Women's Services department features 8 labor rooms, 2 antepartum rooms, 18 postpartum rooms, 3 triage beds, and 8 NICU bassinets. Additionally, we have a certified lactation consultant available to provide support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, adjust, and prioritize patient care plans based on nursing assessments.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients' clinical conditions, identifying potential health issues based on observed data.
  • Interpret abnormal diagnostic test results and take appropriate action.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various nursery procedures and protocols, including feeding, care routines, and discharge planning.
  • Quickly recognize and respond to early signs of crisis situations, preparing for necessary interventions.
  • Utilize specialized nursery equipment effectively, including incubators and vital signs monitors.
  • Exhibit competency in managing emergency nursing situations across different age groups.
  • Assist with neonatal transport and respond to unit needs during emergencies.
  • Document findings accurately and communicate relevant information to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Educate patients and families, tailoring information to their readiness to learn.
  • Perform Point of Care procedures promptly, adhering to established policies and quality control standards.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff, ensuring compliance with job descriptions and practice standards.
  • Engage in the development of other staff members and students.
  • Show willingness to cross-train and assist in various hospital areas as needed.
  • Complete other assigned duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current RN license in Texas or from a state within the Nursing Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Nursery or a related field is preferred.
