Job Summary

The Senior SMT Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, calibration, and hardware maintenance for all SMT and manufacturing equipment. This role supports production with any technical issues related to machine hardware and troubleshoots issues related to the SMT equipment. The Senior SMT Technician orders spare or replacement parts as needed and keeps inventory of machine parts and machine consumable materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance and Calibration

The Senior SMT Technician performs preventative maintenance on various SMT and 2nd Op machines based on machine maintenance schedules. This includes performing calibration on various SMT and 2nd Op machines based on machine maintenance schedules. The Senior SMT Technician also repairs, maintains, calibrates, and/or replaces any damage or failing machine components and consumables, as well as repairs and calibrates SMT feeders.

  • Troubleshooting and Support

The Senior SMT Technician supports and troubleshoots issues relating to SMT machines and processes, including screen printers, pick and place machines, and reflow ovens. This role also supports any technical issues related to SMT machines that are hardware or machine related. The Senior SMT Technician supports programming and SMT technicians with troubleshooting machine issues caused by programming or human error. Additionally, this role supports production with line setup and production run support, including troubleshooting any technical issues that arise with the SMT machines or process. The Senior SMT Technician ensures smooth production runs, optimizing any programs or processes relating to SMT.

  • Machine Setup and Support

The Senior SMT Technician supports engineering and facility with the setup and installation of any new, moved, or transferred machines. This role ensures that machines are installed properly and calibrated before releasing to production. The Senior SMT Technician also ensures that machines are working properly prior to release to production operators. This role supports production with line setup, including determining support pin placement, adjusting machine nozzle configuration, and verifying part pickup. The Senior SMT Technician also supports the management and control of solder paste, nozzle, feeder, and other machine consumables.

Qualifications
  • Minimum education: Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years in SMT manufacturing-related field
  • Knowledge of FUJI and Panasonic machine programming and interface software
  • Knowledge of Panacim MES and Traceability Interface
  • Proficient in using Maintenance Management Software
  • Knowledge of Resource Control Center
  • Proficient in Scanner Programming Software
