Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Wipaire Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our aviation services department, you will be responsible for directing and allocating maintenance technicians to projects, working with project managers on workflow status and scheduling, and providing cost estimates to sales for quoting projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee safe, quality, and efficient shop floor operations, including prioritizing and monitoring departmental performance.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Floor Supervisor by selecting, training, and evaluating shop floor employees.
  • Monitor and manage technician utilization and efficiency to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Manage departmental costs, including identifying and recording rework situations, and providing corrective action for warranty or rework causes.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Floor Supervisor to define shop floor projects and assign authority/responsibility for those projects.
  • Provide training and education to staff, including training materials, manuals, and developmental meetings.
  • Oversee employee scheduling levels for optimal service, including employee vacation and absence tracking.
  • Implement department policies and programs through staff.
  • Ensure maintenance work on aircraft and components complies with Repair Station procedures and documentation is provided to the Inspection Department for aircraft return to service.
  • Ensure Wipaire's quality standards are met on all maintenance work.
  • Work with Project Fulfillment Manager and Maintenance Floor Supervisor to ensure schedule accuracy and discrepancies are properly communicated.
  • Prepare and submit annual budget to the Director of Aircraft Services.
  • Ensure estimates and costs provided to sales and Project Managers are adhered to, and when there is scope change, these new estimates and costs are properly communicated to Project Manager using tools provided.
Requirements:
  • Two-year trade school or technical degree in aircraft mechanics or equivalent work experience required.
  • A & P Mechanic certification required.
  • Five years' minimum practical aircraft mechanic experience required.
  • Three years minimum management or leadership experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of FAA certification processes, including parts, repair processes, drawings, and all applicable compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office, Excel. Able to learn and utilize manufacturers' software and all available Wipaire software packages.
  • Able to make proactive service decisions and move forward with projects based on available information; able to think analytically and select a solution from many alternatives.
  • Able to meet FAA regulatory and safety requirements in all aspects of the work.
  • Able to maintain high quality standards and attention to detail in all facets of the work. Able to maintain utilization and efficiency standards.
  • Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work unsupervised, make high-level decisions independently, and solve problems effectively and creatively.
  • Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
  • Work as an effective and proactive team-player; exhibit flexibility and switch priorities in work duties while maintaining a positive attitude; understands the importance of supporting the organization, customers, and other employees.
  • Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
  • Move around the office and shop areas repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Must be able to travel nationally and preferably able to travel internationally. Travel on a limited basis for the purposes of trade shows and vendor visits. Travel is minimal and estimated to be less than 5%.
  • Comply with drug testing requirements in compliance with federal regulations.
