Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Sutter Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for interviewing patients, collecting demographic information, and ensuring accurate registration for services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and their representatives to collect demographic information and verify insurance coverage
  • Enter accurate information into the computer system and maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Collect co-payments and obtain signatures on appropriate forms
  • Escort patients to their destination as needed
  • Verify eligibility for designated accounts and notify primary care physicians as necessary
  • Order tests for ancillary departments via computer
  • Provide brochures to patients explaining Medical Center regulations and policies
  • Accept and store patient valuables in a safe
  • Answer department telephone and provide directions and map of facility
  • Collect deposits or payments from patients and prepare receipts
Requirements
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
  • Minimum six months recent clerical experience, including contact with the public
  • Hospital admitting/registration experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Computer keyboard knowledge required
Working Conditions

This is a per diem/casual position, working variable hours, including every other weekend. The pay range for this role is $30.38 to $35.78 per hour.
