Job Summary

City of Hope is seeking a skilled Medical Oncology ICU Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and lead by example in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care through the nursing process, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Provide leadership to non-licensed staff, setting an example of excellence and promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Continuously assess patient needs through a holistic approach, communicating changes in patient condition to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adjust treatment plans based on multidisciplinary care, documenting interventions and supervising care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, treatment side effects, and health promotion, documenting education and support provided according to department standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies, participating in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in Performance Improvement plans to enhance patient care quality, obtaining patient medical history and medication information, and documenting appropriately in the patient's medical record.
Requirements

We are seeking a registered nurse with 1-3 years of experience in bedside care, preferably in oncology. Recent ICU and/or step-down experience is also preferred. Strong communication skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to quality improvement are essential for this role.
