Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust database architectures to ensure scalability and high availability.
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Synapse.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high levels of data availability, integrity, and security.
- Consolidate and integrate databases to improve data consistency and reduce redundancy.
- Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ensure database security, including user roles, access controls, and encryption.
- Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as tuning, patching, and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain database recovery plans and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Synapse.
- Strong understanding of database management systems, OLAP, ETL, and large datasets.
- Knowledge of database languages, such as SQL, R, and Python.
- Experience with database software and web applications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of data lake and data lakehouse architecture.
- Firm understanding of analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of the RedPoint Data Management Platform.
- Solid understanding of the Azure Cloud Platform.
