Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust database architectures to ensure scalability and high availability.
  • Install, configure, and maintain database systems, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Synapse.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high levels of data availability, integrity, and security.
  • Consolidate and integrate databases to improve data consistency and reduce redundancy.
  • Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure database security, including user roles, access controls, and encryption.
  • Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as tuning, patching, and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain database recovery plans and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Synapse.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, OLAP, ETL, and large datasets.
  • Knowledge of database languages, such as SQL, R, and Python.
  • Experience with database software and web applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of data lake and data lakehouse architecture.
  • Firm understanding of analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of the RedPoint Data Management Platform.
  • Solid understanding of the Azure Cloud Platform.
