Compliance Engineer, Safety Specialist

At Tesla, we're accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, and our Energy team is leading the charge. We're seeking an experienced Compliance Engineer to join our team and help us bring our world-leading battery technology to the grid.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement regulatory product architecture and design to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
- Support the research of new market entry requirements and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
- Review products, specifications, and test plans to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop test criteria, methodologies, and pass/fail criteria to ensure product compliance.
- Support product registrations and permitting applications, and work with NRTLs to achieve product compliance certificates.
- Debug and resolve non-conformities of products, and convert problem statements to specification requirements.
- Perform product safety testing, troubleshooting, and bug fixing with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- More than 2 years' experience in product regulatory and compliance roles.
- Experience in renewable energy products and standards, and power electronics.
- Understanding of EU CE requirements, North American Listings, and APAC regulations, and compliance/certification experience per ANSI/CAN/UL/IEEE and IEC/EN/ISO standards.
- Demonstrated experience of taking products through the certification process.
- Ability to navigate and interpret ambiguity of various product safety standards.
- Experience with laboratory test equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of energy storage systems, low and high voltage power electronic circuits, and mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components.
