Critical Care Registered Nurse

Farmington, New Mexico, United States DAVITA Full time
Position Overview:
DaVita is in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse eager to enhance the lives of patients in an Acute Hospital environment.

In this role, RNs will operate independently while collaborating with hospital personnel to evaluate, address, and make informed decisions for critically ill patients.

If you haven't explored Nephrology nursing yet, we encourage you to consider this rewarding path. Previous dialysis experience is not a prerequisite.
Utilize your critical care assessment skills.

As an Acute RN, you will manage care for patients facing various co-morbidities and acute conditions, necessitating tailored treatment strategies and the application of a diverse set of nursing skills and knowledge.

Acute RNs may provide nephrology care across several renal therapies, including peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, and apheresis.
Enjoy autonomy within a hospital setting.

Deliver dialysis services to patients at designated hospitals and become a vital member of both their team and ours.

Our Hospital Services division ensures that no two days are alike for an acute dialysis nurse.

You'll have the opportunity to work in various environments (ICU, CCU, ER, and more), continually expanding your nursing expertise beyond dialysis.

Work Schedule:
Provide critical, life-saving care during on-call shifts. Schedules may vary by hospital system.

As an accredited provider of Ambulatory Health Care, DaVita adheres to the highest standards of care, aligning with the best industry practices as established by The Joint Commission.

We expect our nurses to engage in enhancing patient health through clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives.

Our comprehensive DaVita Rewards package connects teammates to essential benefits: extensive health care coverage, retirement planning, career development opportunities, and wellness resources.

~ Medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, PTO cash out, DaVita-negotiated discounts on numerous items, and more.
~ Paid Training:
DaVita provides all new team members with a thorough, compensated training program designed to equip you with the necessary dialysis skills. The training includes both classroom instruction and hands-on experience.
~ Long-term Nursing Career Opportunities: Whether you choose to remain in a patient-facing role or advance into leadership, corporate functions, integrated care, or clinical research, we can support you on that journey.
~ With over 3000 locations and 800+ hospital partnerships nationwide, training may occur in various facilities or training clinics with fellow new teammates.
During the training phase, work hours may fluctuate; however, you can typically expect to work between 32-40 hours weekly.
A flexible schedule is essential, as you will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Willingness to accommodate a flexible schedule with mandatory overtime is necessary due to the nature of the acute care provided.

Be prepared to travel to multiple hospitals within a specified area.

Physical Requirements:
Nurses frequently need to maneuver large hemodialysis machines throughout the hospital with minimal assistance.
An Associate's Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing diploma from an accredited program may substitute for the nursing degree.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook are necessary.
Experience in hemodialysis nursing within acute or chronic settings is preferred, along with medical/surgical (Med/Surg), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), and/or Emergency Room (ER) experience.
Certifications such as Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN), Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN), and/or Certified Hemodialysis Nurse (CHN) are advantageous.
DaVita is an equal opportunity employer – Veteran and Disability. We strive to prioritize community over company.

Our aim is to integrate Diversity & Belonging into all aspects of our Village, making it an intrinsic part of our identity.

As such, recruitment, hiring, assignment, and promotion are conducted without regard to race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

DaVita offers a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k match, healthcare coverage, and a broad range of other benefits.
