CNA (Patient Care Technician) Job Description

As a CNA (Patient Care Technician) at FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Inc., you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with getting patients ready for surgery and procedures, transporting them throughout the hospital, and assisting with discharging patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain patient safety and security by following HIPAA guidelines.
  • Preserve a culture of safety by utilizing safety measures at all times.
  • Proficient in computer skills to carry out secretarial duties and documentation of patient care.
  • Able to complete all nursing assistant skills according to the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or its equivalent.
  • Successful completion of North Carolina Board of Nursing certified Nurse Aide II program.
  • Current Nursing Assistant II listing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Current Nursing Assistant I listing with NC Division of Facilities Services Registry.
  • Successful completion of a formal cross-training program regarding clerical duties.

Certification Requirements:

  • Department-specific certification requirements must be achieved within the first year of employment.
  • Certifications required: BLS, NCI – Maintain certifications prior to renewal date.
