KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate to enhance our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional client service to multi-state corporations facing state and local tax challenges, encompassing compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and disputes.
- Examine information presented on state sales and use tax returns throughout the preparation process.
- Support multi-state corporations in evaluating state tax implications related to business restructuring initiatives.
- Assist multi-state corporations with state and local tax disputes, including preparing clients for auditor discussions, representing clients at hearings and appeal meetings, and drafting protests.
- Conduct research and prepare technical memoranda addressing state and local tax inquiries.
- Guide clients in utilizing technology applications pertinent to their tax reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in providing sales and transactions tax research and technical guidance on multi-state issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Taxation, or a Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited institution.
- Familiarity with various corporate taxes and their implications on sales tax.
- Strong understanding of the development, planning, and execution of sales and transactions tax refund claims.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as the applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations.
