Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian 3 to join our facilities maintenance team at the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our high-traffic buildings and offices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors, as well as vacuuming carpet and shampooing rugs.
  2. Waste Management: Empty wastebaskets, pencil sharpeners, and other receptacles, and replace liners as needed.
  3. Sanitation and Hygiene: Wipe down sinks, toilets, and tiles, and replenish soap, towels, and toilet paper.
  4. Supply Management: Assist in ordering supplies and materials, and recommend products as needed.
  5. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.
  6. Team Leadership: May supervise other custodial staff and provide training to new employees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8 years of education and 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
