Job Summary:

The Lay Legal Advocacy Case Manager (Bilingual) provides critical support services to victims of domestic violence in Maricopa County. This role requires a strong ability to perceive the complex needs of clients and provide effective services, referrals, and support.

This position is co-located at a court location and Sojourner Center's main offices, with frequent travel between campuses and other court locations. The employee is required to work out of Sojourner Center's main office location or designated location in the event that the court worksite is closed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advocacy services to victims of domestic violence
  • Assess client needs and provide effective services, referrals, and support
  • Remain apprised of community-based services and support systems available to clients
  • Collaborate with professionals in the field on education, research, and advocacy to end domestic violence
Requirements:
  • College-level coursework in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, criminology, victimology, or a related field
  • Six (6) months of experience in a field related to victim services, community programs/projects, or criminal justice-related work
  • Or, one (1) year of experience performing the essential functions as described in this job description
  • Bilingual English Spanish required
  • Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance, and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center's insurance company
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work in an office setting
  • Requires the use of a computer and other standard office equipment
  • Requires frequent travel between Sojourner Center campuses and court locations
