Job Summary

The Staff Development and Training Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet the needs of our residents. This position is responsible for coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage to provide quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Scheduling: Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage to provide quality resident care.
  • Employee Support: Respond to employee calls regarding work schedule and call-ins.
  • Applicant Management: Answer applicant calls regarding position availability, coordinating and scheduling interviews with Human Resources.
  • Staffing and Scheduling Needs: Consult with ADON and DON concerning staffing and scheduling needs.
  • Interview Process: Assist with the interview process.
  • Staff Records: Maintain a current listing of all active nursing staff phone numbers.
  • Attendance and Tardiness: Maintain attendance records including tardiness and absenteeism and report excessive attendance issues to the DON.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information.
  • Training and Development: Attend and conduct in-service training programs as scheduled.
  • Recordkeeping: Assist with recordkeeping for facility in-service education, and orientation classes for newly hired personnel.
  • Interdepartmental Relationships: Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.

Qualifications

  • Valid RN License: Valid RN license in the state of employment.
  • Nursing Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Training and Development Experience: Previous experience in training and development within a healthcare setting.
