Physician Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the Idaho Hand Institute in Idaho Falls. As a key member of our medical staff, you will work closely with our top physicians to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial evaluations of new patients, post-op patients, and follow-up patients under the supervision of our physicians.
  • Evaluate and treat post-op patients independently when our supervising physician is away.
  • Dictate patient office notes in our electronic health record system.
  • Perform suture removal and provide dressing changes.
  • Order appropriate x-rays and review images with our supervising physician.
  • Order other diagnostic studies as needed.
  • Review diagnostic reports to determine if patients need to be seen sooner than scheduled.
  • Alert patients of any urgent results.
  • Order medications (must have DEA license).
  • Search the Idaho Prescription Drug Monitoring program prior to prescribing narcotics.
  • Educate patients about their condition and post-op course/treatment.
  • Answer patient phone calls regarding medical questions and concerns.
  • Coordinate patient care needs with administrative team members and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Communicate with other medical specialists involved in patient care, including occupational therapists, trainers, and physicians.
Requirements:
  • Unrestricted Idaho Physician Assistant License.
  • DEA license to order medications.
  • Idaho Board of Pharmacy- Practitioner Controlled Substance Registration.
Work Requirements:

Our Physician Assistant will work in the office with our physician 4 1/2 days per week. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $90,000 to $130,000 per year.
