Position Overview

Summary

The Culinary Preparation Specialist is responsible for assisting with kitchen assignments, maintaining organization, and preparing both hot and cold dishes according to the Chef's guidelines.


The hourly wage for this role ranges from $19.00 to $22.80.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and organize the cooking station and mise-en-place as per Chef's instructions.
  • Prepare meals to order.
  • Process cooking ingredients by washing, chopping vegetables, and cutting meats.
  • Perform basic cooking tasks such as reducing sauces and parboiling.
  • Prepare simple menu items like salads and entrees.
  • May assist in sautéing, grilling, and roasting.
  • Help maintain order in the kitchen, including dry goods, equipment, storage, cleaning supplies, and food deliveries.
  • Set up, operate, and dismantle the cooking station.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the station throughout the shift, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
  • Communicate production needs for the next day by the end of the shift.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • One year of experience in food preparation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic sauces and dressings is advantageous.

Additional Information

Supervision

Given: This position does not have supervisory duties.

Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef, with tasks assigned according to established procedures and frequent checks on work quality. Guidance and support are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk, or remain on your feet for extended periods.

Regularly work in wet, hot, and humid conditions for prolonged durations and may be required to navigate slippery and uneven surfaces.

Must be capable of frequently lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs, either independently or with assistance.
