About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Celebrations to join our team at Savannah Place. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing resident services that promote a level of health, wellbeing, engagement, and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct lifestyle programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for residents.
  • Develop and implement programs for holidays and special events that cater to the interests and needs of our residents.
  • Recruit and develop additional resources to support resident services, including partnerships with outside organizations, service groups, and volunteers.
  • Advise and motivate residents on individual and group activities based on their interests and opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare and organize a calendar of events, submit it for approval, and distribute it to residents and staff.
  • Develop and print the community newsletter to keep residents informed and engaged.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the lifestyle program, ensuring it meets the needs and expectations of our residents.
  • Coordinate the community library and ensure it is well-stocked and easily accessible.
  • Purchase and maintain equipment and supplies within budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepare the Celebrations Operating Budget and ensure it is aligned with the community's financial goals.
  • Organize and supervise a volunteer staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to provide excellent service to residents.
  • Address resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest, promoting a sense of community and connection.
  • Maintain a database and prepare reports on resident quality assurance assessments, participation, and satisfaction.
  • Supervise staff of Recreation and Event Coordinators across multiple levels of service in a retirement community.
  • Participate in community in-services and stay up-to-date on Federal, State, and Local regulations and requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, or Adult Education.
  • Three to five years of related experience, with two years of supervisory/management experience.
