Job Summary

The Automatic Entry Door (AED) or Storefront Door Service Technician will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing all makes and models of automatic entry doors, storefront doors, and the electrical systems associated with this equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine proactive maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of automatic entry doors and storefront doors.
  • Troubleshoot industrial equipment, mechanisms, mechanical systems, and electrical circuits to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform service, maintenance, repair, and installation on a variety of commercial automatic entry doors, including storefront, sliding, swinging, glass, revolving/rotating, low energy, handicap, and folding doors, as well as the mechanisms, mechanical systems, and electrical circuits associated with each.
  • Provide information and recommend services to the Sales team to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage work orders (paper and digital) for each job in a timely manner to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Perform hazard assessments and maintain a high standard of safe work practices and quality control to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines to avoid injuries and damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean-up of work area debris.
  • Complete all necessary company training in a timely manner to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to support the team and achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Experience with repair and maintenance of Automatic Entry, Pedestrian, and/or Storefront Doors is required.
  • Valid and current American Association of Automatic Doors Manufacturers (AAADM) Certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Mechanical, Commercial, and Industrial Maintenance is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven, service environment is essential.
  • Follows all safety procedures in performing work, as well as company policies, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Able to work without supervision, occasionally in a team environment, to deliver high-quality results.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs and across remote offices to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete service reports, time-cards, and parts ordering to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical school training and OEM certification are a plus.
  • Must have schedule flexibility, as services may be performed during evenings, weekends, or holidays (most normal shifts M-F, 7:00a - 5:00p).
  • Ability to work overtime is required to meet business objectives.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have a valid state-issued Driver's License with a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to pass a standard Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
