Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Virginia Beach Jail in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will deliver quality care to patients, providing monitoring and support as directed by the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Director of Nursing (DON), Registered Nurse (RN), or Medical Director. The LPN will also be responsible for implementing nursing care within their scope of practice, assisting in the development and implementation of teaching plans, and providing wound care and medication administration.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver quality care to patients, providing monitoring and support as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, or Medical Director
  • Implement nursing care within the LPN's scope of practice, including compliance with all laws and regulations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of teaching plans based on individual patient needs
  • Provide wound care and medication administration as needed
  • Monitor vital signs and report changes to appropriate medical staff
  • Document actions in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and medical records
Requirements:
  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment
  • Possesses an active CPR certification
  • Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice
  • Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role
