We are seeking a highly experienced Payroll Operations Director to join our team at MasTec Power Delivery. As a key member of our HR Operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing the payroll processes for our Power Delivery segment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all processes within the payroll function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver payroll services that optimize operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategies to scale payroll operations and related systems.
- Ensure tax and regulatory compliance related to workers' compensation and tax withholdings.
- Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Support enhancements to HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems to absorb scale through M&A.
- Design and implement workflows and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions.
- Monitor the latest payroll and wage laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Manage payroll-related financial closing activities and external audits.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in payroll operations, with a focus on high-volume multi-state and multi-unit payrolls.
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams.
- Experience with enterprise-level payroll systems, preferably JDE or Oracle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team building and development.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle confidential information.
- Membership in recognized Payroll Professional bodies.
