Salary Information:
The estimated salary for this position is $20.00-$20.75 per hour, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the San Fernando Valley area.
Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing hands-on instruction and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in various life skills areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with living skill development and personal care needs as directed by the Home Manager and outlined in the resident's individualized service plan (ISP).
- Administering medications to residents as directed by the facility's Registered Nurse and as prescribed by the resident's physician.
- Writing documents as assigned, such as case notes, medication documentation, special incident reports, and emergency drill summaries.
- Transporting and accompanying residents to recreational outings and medical appointments using the agency's 8-passenger van.
- Assisting with day-to-day household management duties, including food preparation and cleanup, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Handling resident funds and facility petty cash funds in accordance with facility policy and procedures.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California Driver License and driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier.
- Legally driving for at least 3 years in the United States.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
