About Our Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
  • Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their stay with us.
  • Manage the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for exams, providing general nursing care and comfort, and arranging for admissions, testing, and discharges.
  • Review and maintain accurate records of patient information, including test results and examination outcomes.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians and instruct patients and families on proper medication use and treatment plans.
  • Respond to incoming telephone calls, providing timely support and referrals when necessary.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Hold a graduate degree from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree or higher).
  • Be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Possess a current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
