We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Intern to join our team at the South Carolina Department of Transportation. As an Environmental Services Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including:

  • Environmental Program Development: Assist with developing and implementing environmental programs, including NEPA, Permitting, Compliance, Public Involvement, and Design Build.
  • Fieldwork: Assist staff with conducting wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species act surveys, and archaeological investigations.
  • GIS Mapping: Digitize archaeological surveys using GIS for incorporation into the state's Cultural Resource Information System (ArchSite).
  • Project Coordination: Assist with coordinating environmental projects, including preparing USACE jurisdictional determinations and visiting and assisting staff in monitoring stream mitigation.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental services, develop valuable skills, and contribute to the success of our team. We are committed to providing a diverse and inclusive work environment that fosters growth and development.
