Surgical Preservation Coordinator

The Surgical Preservation Coordinator plays a critical role in the organ donation process, overseeing the perfusion and preservation of organs for transplantation. This position requires a high degree of autonomy, organization, and technical expertise in surgical services.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure optimal recovery process adherence to regulatory policies and organizational procedures.
- Perform perfusion, packaging, and labeling of organs, as well as regulatory documentation.
- Assist the organ recovery physician with organ removal and preparation for transplantation.
- Manage logistical aspects of surgical teams and organs, including coordination with hospital personnel and outside recovery teams.
- Set up necessary OR equipment and instruments for organ recovery.
- Document all activities in the electronic donor record and upload pump numbers to DonorNet.
- Surgical Technician or Certified Surgical Technologist with minimum 1-year Operating Room experience.
- Training and/or experience in organ preservation, transplantation, and/or surgical/sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with a team, and attention to detail required.
- The ability to practice with a high degree of autonomy in a self-directed manner that demonstrates innovation and creativity.
- Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP)
- Experience in organ procurement, transplant, or tissue recovery/banking.
This position requires frequent travel by personal vehicle and may require travel by commercial or chartered aircraft. The ARORA office is a non-smoking environment.
