The Judge Group is in search of a logistics expert to enhance the planning and execution of our inbound, intercompany, international, and customer freight operations. This role is pivotal in driving value by optimizing transportation and distribution expenses. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong economic reasoning and maintain a robust focus on customer satisfaction, both internal and external.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS) and related routing guidelines to effectively balance cost and service quality.
- Coordinate the development of international logistics platforms.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs through consolidation, equipment utilization, and mode optimization.
- Employ advanced analytics to support recommendations aimed at enhancing efficiency and implementing corrective measures.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Supplier/Vendor Management, Distribution Center Operations, and carriers to ensure seamless communication throughout the delivery process.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses regarding service model strategies and network designs as required.
- Perform root cause analysis on critical metrics (KPIs) trends in areas such as service performance and cost management.
- Lead transportation initiatives that deliver value to the organization.
To excel in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, etc.) from an accredited institution is preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with TMS (BluJay/E2Open preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teams both within and outside of the transportation sector.
- Proactive and innovative approach to operational management.
- Ability to lead and advocate for change within the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with JDE (Oracle) is desirable.
