About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Big Bend Hospice. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing patient care using music therapy techniques to assist patients and their families with various needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and document music therapy interventions with patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Travel to off-site locations throughout our 8-county service area to provide care to patients in their homes, ALFs, nursing homes, and other facilities.
  • Use music therapy techniques to address various patient needs, including pain management, anxiety, and depression.
  • Participate in assigned community events and bereavement groups.
  • Submit detailed and accurate documentation through our Electronic Medical Records system (EMR).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy or other bachelor's degree with Music Therapy equivalency through an American Music Therapy accredited program.
  • Board Certified as a Music Therapist by CBMT.
  • Strong musical skills and clinical understanding.
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems (EMR) and clinical documentation preferred.
  • Ability to work PRN during regular business hours.
  • Valid Driver's License, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
