LPN Clinical Specialist at Brigham and Women's Hospital

The LPN Clinical Specialist is a vital member of the healthcare team at Brigham and Women's Hospital, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the attainment of important goals for patients, practices, and organizations. As an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, you will be accountable for patient care assigned by licensed independent providers (LIPs) or registered nurses (RNs).

In this role, you will demonstrate true engagement and enthusiasm to provide nursing care for patients and families, promoting an inclusive environment supportive of patient- and family-centered care for a diverse community. You will accept assignments for patient care within the scope of your preparation and current standards of nursing practice, collaborating as a member of the healthcare team to contribute toward a supportive and therapeutic environment that promotes patient goals.
You will accurately obtain vital signs, elicit information about patients' basic health status, administer relevant nursing care within your scope of practice and as directed by LIPs/RNs, and document as appropriate in the electronic health record. Additionally, you will administer medication as ordered by LIPs and according to established policies and procedures, perform routine tests, and participate in team-based care and patient education initiatives to support the health and wellness of patients.
This role requires strong communication skills, including effective oral and written communication, phone skills, organization skills, and system skills. You must be able to utilize technology in the clinical setting, manage work processes in a neat and orderly way, and maintain responsibility for optimal patient outcomes. You will also work within legal, regulatory, accreditation, and ethical practice standards relevant to the position and as established by BWH/Partners.
