About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Coordinator to join our team at Gateway Area Development District. This is a full-time position with normal business hours, occasional nights and weekends for special events or training, and travel within the region and state.

Job Description

The Financial Operations Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Director of Finance, assisting with various financial tasks and duties as assigned. This may include processing monthly tasks, bi-weekly payroll, verifying credit card charges, updating policies and procedures, and performing other general accounting and financial reporting functions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field, with 2-5 years of experience in a non-profit or governmental organization. They will be able to apply accounting principles and procedures, federal and state regulations, office procedures, and equipment to financial operations. Additionally, they will possess strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process various monthly tasks, including updating incoming receipts log, recording deposits, recognizing depreciation, annual leave accruals, organization vehicle usage, shared costs, bank reconciliations, PDS revenue recognition, and issuing ACH-processed checks.
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing as needed.
  • Verify monthly credit card charges.
  • Assist with updating policies and procedures, such as fiscal policies, travel, and procedure manuals.
  • Support external auditors.
  • Complete year-end tasks, including audit adjustments and balancing accounts.
  • Scan and file documents for record retention.
  • Process checks, including vendor invoices and sub-provider requests, and review accounts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a non-profit or governmental organization.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 30 pounds.
  • Fine motor skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills.
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
