Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mobility Aide to join our team at Werner Cancer Hospital Specialty Care Unit (WSCU). As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy or high-dose chemotherapy.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic patient care functions that assist with individualized patient mobility activities as directed by licensed nurse, physical therapist, and/or occupational therapist personnel.
  • Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and mobility exercises to promote independence and comfort.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families to promote a positive and supportive care environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Completion of certified nursing assistant program or restorative program or experience in direct patient care required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.
