Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled American Sign Language (ASL) educator to join our team as an Online ASL Instructor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching ASL levels 1-4 to hearing, deaf, and hard of hearing high school students through our ASL Online program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ASL levels 1-4 to high school students through our online program
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to ensure academic success
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Stay current with best practices in ASL education and pedagogy
Requirements
  • Valid Ohio teaching licensure for grade level, subject area, or special class assignment
  • Advanced level on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) within one year of hire
  • Intermediate level minimum requirement at hire
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a 185-day Statewide Services and Outreach calendar spanning August 1 – June 30.
