Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly skilled Machining Instructor to join our team. As a Machining Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching Machining courses at a variety of times and locations. You will create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material. You will also submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner and utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Machining and manufacturing technology, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. You will also have a commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning.

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position, and you will be required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction. You will also be responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Machining courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
