Pharmacy Technician Job Description

Conversio Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our pharmacists with various tasks, including compounding, ordering, stocking, packaging, and processing medications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and compound sterile products in a clean room environment
  • Maintain the pharmacy clean room to USP 797 and USP 800 requirements
  • Perform area clearance and verify batch supplies, entering data into the computer system
  • Document IV admixture and clean room sterility testing
  • Use equipment properly in the lab to make compounds
  • Assemble, inspect, and verify compounding components
  • Calibrate and document scales, electronic meters, etc.
  • Follow safety and USP guidelines for preparation of compounding I.V. solutions
  • Complete order entry and refills under the supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge
  • Document labels, log sheets, and reports in a timely manner
  • Assist with inventory management and storage
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current CA Pharmacy Technician license
  • Ability to stand for long periods while working under a vertical or horizontal hood
  • Willingness to wear protective wear as required by facility SOPs
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • National certification (PTCB) preferred but not required
  • Reliable commute or relocation to San Luis Obispo before starting work

Compensation is based on experience and licenses/certifications held.
