Join Central Garden & Pet, a leading provider of pet food and supplies, as a Route Delivery Driver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering pet food and supplies to customers across the region.


As a Route Delivery Driver, you will operate a tractor trailer or straight truck, making multiple stops per day to deliver pet food and supplies to customers. You will also be responsible for unloading product from the truck and performing pre/post trip vehicle inspections.


This is a full-time position, with most drivers scheduled for 4-day work weeks and off on weekends. You will be required to work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, sleet, hot, humid, and cold temperatures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing pre/post trip vehicle inspections
  • Completing necessary paper/computer work
  • Cleaning out the truck, including sweeping, stacking pallets, product returns, and damage
  • Safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse/dock location to the customer delivery location
  • Performing deliveries at each stop, completing necessary delivery paperwork or utilizing company-provided mobile device and interacting with customers
  • Unloading products from the truck using available material handling equipment (pallet jack, hand cart, etc)
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license for the required vehicle type
  • Meeting the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and medical requirements and possessing a valid medical card
  • Understanding and adhering to all DOT and company regulations regarding safe driving practices, hours of service requirements, and drug testing protocols
  • Maintaining regular and punctual attendance
  • Working extended hours, as required by operational needs
  • Possessing excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and being courteous and responsive to customer needs
  • Promoting a safe work environment by following facility and company safety guidelines
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner


Requirements include:

  • 1 or more years related delivery driving experience, preferred
  • Ability to count and perform basic math
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 175 pounds (using a hand cart)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Position requires a high level of concentration when operating a motor vehicle
