The Temp Connection is seeking a committed Label Rewind and Slitting Technician to join our team in the industrial manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate slitting machinery to prepare labels according to job specifications.
- Manage the rewinding of cores on shafts, ensuring perforations, dimensions, and alignment of rewind rolls are accurate.
- Thread paper through the slitter and confirm that cuts meet specified dimensions using measuring tools.
- Monitor slitting and rewinding processes, inspecting labels for quality issues such as flatness, holes, and surface imperfections.
- Control specific equipment units, including the feeder unit, through the operational panel.
- Prepare label rolls by operating the rewind machine as per job requirements.
- Insert the end of the parent roll into the machine's feeding mechanism and manually adjust the friction brake to maintain paper tension.
- Review job tickets and adhere to instructions to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
- Consult with management regarding any inquiries related to job specifications.
- Collaborate with management to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
- Assist in scheduling necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to guarantee high-quality printing standards.
- Follow company and ISO quality protocols, recognizing acceptable and unacceptable quality levels.
- Report significant performance issues to management promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of machinery on a regular basis.
- Adhere to company safety regulations and guidelines.
- Identify and suggest improvements to the rewind/slitting processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Capable of handling, controlling, or feeling objects, tools, or controls.
- Able to lift heavy items for short durations.
Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with a half-hour lunch break. Fridays are off unless overtime is required.
Compensation:Hourly pay rate of $15.50.
