Job Overview

As a Class A CDL Driver for UNFI, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's distribution operations by delivering palletized products to corporate and independent retail stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safe and effective loading and handling procedures.
  • Deliver and unload products utilizing equipment such as tractor trailers, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, load bars, and other devices.
  • Operate vehicles safely within UNFI guidelines, minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and complaints from the public.
  • Report any accidents immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department.
  • Keep vehicles well-maintained, safe, and secure, reporting any defects promptly using DCVR form.
  • Pick up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork.
  • Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate.
  • Ensure customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond precisely to the initial order.
Requirements
  • Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state-specific Commercial Driver's License, Class A.
  • Ability to pass a road test.
  • Minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of shipping and receiving functions.
