Job Summary

TREO STAFFING LLC is seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our team. As a Structural Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of fabricated parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify Conformance: Inspect workpieces to ensure they meet specifications, using precision tools such as squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
  • Align and Fit Parts: Position and secure parts according to specifications, utilizing jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
  • Position and Weld Parts: Assemble and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
  • Study Engineering Drawings: Examine blueprints and specifications to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
  • Set Up and Operate Machines: Configure and run fabricating machines to produce high-quality parts.
  • Lay Out and Examine Metal Stock: Inspect metal stock or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
  • Tack-Weld Fitted Parts: Secure fitted parts together using tack-welding techniques.
  • Mark Reference Points: Identify and mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces, using measuring devices, squares, chalk, and soapstone.
  • Set Up Face Blocks and Fixtures: Configure face blocks, jigs, and fixtures to support fabrication processes.
  • Position or Tighten Braces: Secure parts in position for welding or riveting using braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps.
  • Locate and Mark Bending and Cutting Lines: Identify and mark workpiece bending and cutting lines, taking into account stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
  • Smooth Workpiece Edges: Refine workpiece edges and install taps, tubes, and valves.
  • Preheat Workpieces: Heat workpieces to make them malleable, using hand torches or furnaces.
  • Cut and Weld: Cut and weld workpieces using torches and other equipment.
