We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laundry Floor Lead to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our laundry operations team, you will be responsible for leading and monitoring floor operations, recommending improvements to upper management, and ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in our laundry services.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and monitor floor operations, recommending improvements as needed to upper management.
- Laundry Operations: Prep clean linen (sorting, folding, weighing) and receive/fill distribution orders.
- Maintenance and Housekeeping: Load and unload washer and dryer, and maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery.
- Travel and Training: Travel to other Supported Living Centers under Region IV Laundry, and train others in laundry operations and procedures.
- Experience: Experience in laundering techniques in a commercial/institutional setting, and experience in the use of machinery in a commercial/institutional setting.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to actively lead and direct the work of others, ability to speak, read, and write English, ability to compute simple math problems, ability to perform routine job functions on a daily basis, ability to work closely with others, ability to effectively communicate with others, ability to train others, and ability to move a minimum of 50 pounds by lifting/pushing/pulling.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced institutional laundry setting, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and will be able to effectively communicate with colleagues and management.
