POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant II possesses comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, alongside strong general ledger and financial reporting capabilities, complemented by excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

This role involves responsibilities in general ledger management, fixed assets, accounts payable, and various other accounting functions.

The Senior Accountant II will assume a leadership position in select areas while supporting Senior and Staff Accountants in their tasks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct timely reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts.
  • Engage in month-end closing activities, preparing complex journal entries and maintaining reconciliations for significant accounts.
  • Review and authorize journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Staff and Senior Accountants.
  • Compile month-end closing packages.
  • Perform analytical reviews of balance sheets and income statements monthly, addressing major variances against budget and prior year.
  • Assist in year-end audit preparations and quarterly reviews.
  • Analyze actual results compared to prior periods, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Guide Staff Accountants on non-routine accounting and reporting transactions.
  • May assist with daily banking operations.
  • Collaborate with various corporate and field departments to achieve the Accounting department's objectives.
  • Participate in special projects and analyses requiring extensive Excel use and data manipulation.
  • Proactively identify and implement workflow process improvements.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by Accounting leadership.
  • Support Manager in ASC 805 acquisition-related processes, including Opening Balance Sheet procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA or CPA candidates are preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of general ledger accounting experience in mid-to-large-sized organizations.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
  • Experience with Great Plains and/or PeopleSoft accounting software is preferred.
  • Company-provided equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset) will be available for use during employment.
