Senior Systems Engineer, GNC, Prime Air

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Prime Air team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, and delivering solutions for Prime Air's Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:- Break down complex problems into manageable components using system representations and collaborate with technical teams to clarify needs and align technical teams.
- Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns that span lab and field-testing environments in collaboration with subsystem development and test teams.
- Develop and communicate system integration and evaluation strategies and plans in support of program learning, technical risk reduction, verification, and validation.
- Perform technical risk assessments, devise mitigation plans, and create system test strategies.
- Propose changes to the system architecture and allocations across multiple sub-systems and components that improve system performance and robustness.
- Build quantitative models and analyses (Excel, MATLAB, Python) to conduct trade studies, refine requirements, and understand key system drivers across the integrated systems of systems.
- B.S degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in systems engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in the design, integration, and testing of GNC systems.
- Knowledge of software engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware development life cycle.
- Experience communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs.
- Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in systems engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in the design, integration, and testing of GNC systems.
- Familiarity with RTCA-DO178 standards.
- Knowledge of fundamental aerodynamics theory.
- Ability to model and understand signal processing and/or physics-based dynamics.
- Experience with simulation (software/hardware in-the-loop).
- Strong mathematical/statistical fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
