Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer, GNC, Prime Air

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Prime Air team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, and delivering solutions for Prime Air's Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Break down complex problems into manageable components using system representations and collaborate with technical teams to clarify needs and align technical teams.
  • Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns that span lab and field-testing environments in collaboration with subsystem development and test teams.
  • Develop and communicate system integration and evaluation strategies and plans in support of program learning, technical risk reduction, verification, and validation.
  • Perform technical risk assessments, devise mitigation plans, and create system test strategies.
  • Propose changes to the system architecture and allocations across multiple sub-systems and components that improve system performance and robustness.
  • Build quantitative models and analyses (Excel, MATLAB, Python) to conduct trade studies, refine requirements, and understand key system drivers across the integrated systems of systems.
Requirements:
  • B.S degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, integration, and testing of GNC systems.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware development life cycle.
  • Experience communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in the design, integration, and testing of GNC systems.
  • Familiarity with RTCA-DO178 standards.
  • Knowledge of fundamental aerodynamics theory.
  • Ability to model and understand signal processing and/or physics-based dynamics.
  • Experience with simulation (software/hardware in-the-loop).
  • Strong mathematical/statistical fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
