Job Summary:

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our team for the upcoming school year. This full-time, onsite position will provide essential support within the special education department of a school. Summer hours may also be available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services to students within the special education department.
  • Conduct evaluations to determine if students qualify for additional counseling services to be included in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' mental health and academic success.
  • Assist in the evaluation process for determining eligibility for counseling services in IEPs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and evaluations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations based on assessments.

Requirements:

  • Must have prior experience working in a school setting.
  • Active Texas certification/licensure as an Educator as either School Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Master's in Social Work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Proficient in conducting and interpreting psychological assessments.
