Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration Coordinator to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing patient registration and financial obligations, ensuring seamless and efficient patient flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information, accurately entering data into registration and billing systems.
  • Collect and process patient payments, including deposits, co-payments, and deductibles.
  • Prepare and present necessary paperwork, including consent forms and financial obligations, to patients and their families.
  • Balance daily receipts and cash drawer, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Initiate screenings and obtain necessary information for coverage, completing appropriate paperwork.
  • Perform medical necessity checks and complete Advanced Beneficiary Notices as required.
  • Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patients in accordance with hospital workflows.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • State criminal background check, and federal, if applicable, as required for state department of health regulated areas.
  • Ability to accurately utilize applicable computer software and equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Working Environment

This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with patients, medical staff, and support staff. The ability to work in a team-oriented setting and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a high-stress environment is essential.
