The Advanced Materials & Technology Recruiting Firm is in search of skilled professionals for the role of Packaging Development Engineer within the Research & Development Team. This position is dedicated to the creation and enhancement of packaging solutions that are designed as independent products. The focus is on either rigid or flexible packaging, aimed at addressing market needs, improving user experience, and supporting sustainable manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative packaging solutions that function as primary products, both rigid and flexible.
  • Research and analyze new materials, technologies, and packaging trends to foster the development of advanced solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that packaging designs meet performance, cost, and sustainability objectives.
  • Create prototypes of packaging designs and perform thorough testing to verify compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate test outcomes and refine designs to enhance performance and usability.
  • Oversee multiple packaging development projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely execution and alignment with project objectives.
  • Engage with suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to assess the feasibility and scalability of packaging solutions.
  • Compile comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, testing reports, and user manuals for packaging solutions.
  • Ensure all documentation is precise, current, and adheres to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Champion initiatives aimed at developing sustainable packaging solutions that reduce environmental impact.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements to continuously enhance packaging designs and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in packaging design and development, with a focus on both rigid and flexible packaging.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in blown film production, extrusion coating, extrusion lamination, and roto/flexo printing.

Relocation assistance will be available for qualified candidates, and compensation will be aligned with experience.
