We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Maintenance and Reliability team. This role will report directly to the Site Asset Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engineering support for electrical, control, and power distribution systems within the plant operations.
- Provide technical expertise in low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems, including motor control centers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Assist in managing small and large-scale cost and capital projects.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineers to provide technical guidance.
- Review and guide electrical procedures, programs, and safety practices.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) by participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, and instrumentation issues as required.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) related to electrical and control systems.
- Offer engineering assistance to maintenance and operations, including troubleshooting and technical recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
- Develop expertise in specific equipment to become a subject matter expert for maintenance inspection and work procedures.
- Initiate management of change documents to enhance safety, quality, environmental impact, or cost efficiency.
- Prepare and audit scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and equipment specifications.
- Review preventive maintenance plans to ensure optimal process performance.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and designs, exercising sound judgment regarding functionality, cost, and timing.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 1-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong commitment to safety awareness and execution.
- Ability to:

- Utilize initiative to make decisions within established guidelines.
- Organize workflows efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality.

- Experience in plant electrical, PLC, and instrumentation system design, maintenance, and operation.
- Familiarity with motors, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, and soft-starters.
- Knowledge of flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH, density, and conductivity measurements.
- Experience with PLCs, preferably Rockwell.
- Prior experience collaborating with field personnel in maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational skills, including strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Proven capability to manage tight deadlines, emergency situations, and multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Familiarity with industry standards (NEC, ISA, etc.).
- Understanding of PLC systems (Rockwell preferred).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or mining environments.
- Working knowledge of industry codes and best practices in engineered solutions.
