Job Summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a skilled plant maintenance professional to join our team in Illinois-Manteno. As an Operations team member, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of safety and take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation.
  • Perform general physical activities, including using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, assisting co-workers in the servicing, repairing, and adjusting of various pieces of equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and structures, performing daily inspections and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment, including heavy construction equipment or similar types of cleanup loaders.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours, as well as tolerate being exposed to loud noises and working outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Mechanical skills, including knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
