The Greater Flint Health Coalition is in search of a Project Coordination Specialist to contribute to our initiatives.
Overview:
The Greater Flint Health Coalition (GFHC) operates as a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering collaborative efforts across various sectors. GFHC serves as a neutral facilitator for numerous coalitions and manages a suite of community-oriented programs aimed at enhancing health outcomes, increasing access to healthcare, and addressing chronic diseases, social determinants of health, and health disparities.
As part of GFHC, the Community Health Access Program (CHAP) focuses on population health and care management, working with a diverse array of healthcare providers, insurers, and community organizations to meet the clinical and community needs of residents. The program aims to connect individuals to primary care, eliminate barriers to healthcare access, and improve the quality of care while optimizing resources and reducing costs. The primary target population includes children and adults in Flint and Genesee County who are covered by Medicaid, as well as those who are uninsured or underinsured.
The full-time Project Coordination Specialist will assist the Program Director in the development, execution, and oversight of CHAP and its associated community impact initiatives. This role involves engaging with healthcare providers, insurers, coalition partners, and community stakeholders, facilitating committee activities, tracking program performance metrics, and promoting the mission of GFHC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, management, and execution of committees and community collaboration projects alongside cross-functional teams, including clinical and educational partners, social service agencies, and community members.
- Provide staffing for committees and task forces, ensuring responsiveness to partner needs and concerns. Responsibilities include preparing materials, developing agendas, documenting minutes, and following up on committee decisions.
- Oversee project timelines, activities, documentation, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with partner objectives and project requirements.
- Gather and analyze data to assess community needs and project outcomes; assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs; prepare reports and share best practices with stakeholders.
- Engage in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying systemic and procedural challenges.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the Greater Flint Health Coalition while fostering collaborative relationships with partner organizations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in health or a related field; a Master's degree (MPH, MHSA, or MS) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm for public health initiatives, particularly those addressing broad health determinants and fostering collaboration among diverse organizations.
- Proven ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in structured, time-sensitive environments.
- Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage multi-sector stakeholders effectively.
- Strong analytical, technical, and relationship-building skills to enhance program outcomes.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with comfort in public speaking and professionalism in interactions.
- Reliable, attentive, and punctual.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Reports to: Senior Program Director
Job Status: Full Time, Salary; Monday through Friday, with flexibility for meetings and events as required.
Compensation: GFHC offers a competitive salary based on experience, along with benefits including paid time off, holidays, medical, vision, and dental coverage, life and disability insurance, and a 403b plan.
