Position Summary
The Pediatric Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing business and financial data requirements related to the clinical research portfolio within the Division of Pediatrics. This position will influence operational procedures and practices throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in project management, data analysis, or accounting. Candidates with a robust background in accounting and finance, as well as strong communication and analytical skills, are preferred. Previous experience in research settings is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Generate monthly financial reports detailing departmental research revenues and expenses by fund and account.
- Analyze variances and provide insights to faculty and management.
- Maintain a comprehensive database for all research project transactions and publish necessary reports.
- Ensure institutional funding opportunities are allocated according to established policies.
Account Maintenance and Reconciliation
- Oversee daily reconciliation of clinical research billings.
- Develop and monitor processes to accurately capture clinical research charges.
- Ensure accurate posting of patient research charges in relevant systems.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate with department leadership to project expenses and revenues from grants and gifts.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget, ensuring all grant-related salaries are appropriately accounted for.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Required Experience: Minimum of two years in business roles involving project management, data analysis, or accounting.
Preferred Experience: Five years of relevant experience.
